Wakeboard contest was run at the second day of the games. There were no surprises this time. Nikita Martianov won the final, despite the fact that in the contest participated a “underdog”- American guy, Darin Shapiro’s student. George Hudnitskiy came second and the bronze got Anton Katorgin.

Вэйкборд проводили во второй день игр. На этот раз никаких сюрпризов не было. Финал выиграл Никита Мартьянов, несмотря на то, что в контесте участвовала «темная лошадка» – американец, ученик Дарина Шапиро. вторым стал Георгий Худницкий, а бронзу взял: Антон Каторгин.

For the first time in Russia wakesurf contest took place. It was a part of the extreme festival Adrenalin Games. Well, I can say that contest was successful. The entry consisted of 16 people, moreover half of them were women. Competition was open, and women overrode men’s team. Only Sergey Ulubabov came third. Places form fifth to first were captured by girls. The first three look like this: Yana Glumilina, Irina Matvienko and Sergey Ulubabov.

Впервые в России прошел вэйксерф контест. Все это проходило в рамках экстремального фестиваля Adrenalin Games. Можно сказать, что контест удался. Заявка состояла из 16 человек, причем половина из них женщины. Соревнования проводились в абсолютной категории,и можно сказать что женщины перекатали мужскую команду. Только третье место досталось Серегею Улыбабову. Места с первого по пятое полностью захватили женщины. А первая тройка выглядит так: Яна Глумилина, Ирина Матвиенко, Улыбабов Сергей.

Past weekend started a new chapter of the history of cable wakeboarding in Russia. 2 years after World Championship, which was held in Anapa, Moscow welcomed international competition at the first Russian wakeboard park at cable in Strogino. Despite the fact, that there weren’t such parks in Russia so far, the level of the riding was very high. Almaz Smilekulov became the winner of the OPEN category by making Double S-band in the final round.

Прошедшим викендом начался новый виток в истории кабельного вэйкборда в России. Спустя 2 года, когда в Анапе прошел чемпионат мира, в Москве, прошли международные соревнования в первом российском вэйкборд парке на лебедке в Строгино. Несмотря на то, что в России до этого момента не было похожих парков, уровень катания был очень высок. Ну а победу в категории OPEN одержал Алмаз Смайлкулов, выполнив в финальном проходе Двойной S-Bend.

After the englishman’s departure from our capital, the weather changed dramatically and became more like the weather in Dan Nott’s motherland. Dan has managed to ride, hang out and teach people. And we have managed to shoot 2 of his sets. Pictures are under the cut.
